Wakepoint Bible Fellowship

Thanks for stopping by our page! I am Pastor Allan Reed, and this is my wife, Jo. We have been serving at WakePoint Bible Fellowship since 2019.

We were high school sweethearts, and as of June, 2026, have been married forty-seven years. We have three children, and two grandchildren.

As lovers of Jesus, we are passionate about His Word and about following Him. Each week I teach the Bible, and we lead praise and worship on the deck of The Spot at WakePoint LBJ – but we do so with one burning desire: That the love of God, which has been poured out in our hearts, results in a worship and a love that overflows into the community around us. Our fellowship seeks to display the love of the Father as revealed in the letter of James:

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

The “religion” or outward worship and service that God desires, is not just to visit orphans and widows and others who are in need – but to “visit” for the purpose of “comfort and relief.” It means to “visit” with the aim of identifying and meeting the needs of these individuals!

Jesus also emphasized the importance of how we treat those who are in distress around us when He said:

Matthew 25:34-40 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’

And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Here Jesus equates the treatment of people in distress to “how people treat Him!”

With this in mind, all donations at WakePoint Bible Fellowship are used to purchase grocery gift cards for widows and a variety of other needy individuals at one of four locations: Windwood Retirement Community (Kingsland), TownePark Apartments (Kingsland), Llano Square Apartments (Llano) and Park Ridge Apartments (Llano.)

While providing gift cards to purchase the “food which perishes” – we also have regular weekly services at Windwood, bi-weekly services at TownePark, and each monthly food give away follows a song and gospel presentation at each location.

Jo conducts a weekly Bible study and together we offer larger group studies on a variety of topics. Our Fellowship has volunteers who have started other ministries to serve the community at locations like Windchime at the Village in Kingsland. Our Fellowship also sponsors a weekly night of ministry to the inmates at the Llano County jail.

While the needs in our community are great – our God is greater!

We agree with longtime missionary Hudson Taylor, who often said, “When God’s work is done in God’s way for God’s glory, it will not lack for God’s supply.”

This, with the Lord’s help is what we seek to do…God’s work, God’s way, for His glory!
